The 90-minute block
One task, one outcome, one closed door. The block is the atom of serious work.
- Define the outcome before you start: "section two drafted," not "work on report."
- Phone in another room — not silenced, absent. Proximity alone leaks attention.
- Stop on time even mid-sentence; the brain trusts blocks that end when promised.
- Two blocks a day is a serious deep-work practice; build to four over months, not this Friday.
