Vedic astrology, also called Jyotish, is an Indian astrological tradition that interprets a sidereal birth chart using the lagna, grahas, rashis, houses, nakshatras and timing frameworks such as dashas. Soul Yatri presents these as traditional reflective frameworks, not scientific proof or guaranteed prediction.

What do I need to generate a kundali?

You need a birth date, local birth time and birthplace. A verified place selection supplies coordinates and an IANA timezone so the local time can be converted consistently for chart calculation. If the time is uncertain, preserve that uncertainty rather than presenting the result as exact.

Should I start with my rashi or my full birth chart?

Start with the full birth chart. A rashi page explains one sign, but a chart shows which graha occupies that sign, the relevant house, aspects and other context. Isolated sign descriptions cannot represent the whole chart.

What is the difference between a rashi and a nakshatra?

Rashis divide the zodiac into twelve 30-degree signs. Nakshatras divide it into 27 lunar mansions of 13 degrees 20 minutes each. A planet therefore has both a rashi placement and a nakshatra placement in a sidereal chart.

Can Vedic astrology predict events with certainty?

No interpretation should be treated as certainty. Birth-time quality, calculation settings, interpretive method and real-life context all matter. Use astrology for reflection and questions; use qualified professionals and real evidence for medical, legal, financial or mental-health decisions.

The chart’s foundations

No single placement is the whole person.

A chart becomes more useful when its parts are read together. Begin with structure, then add detail. Keep the recorded birth-time quality visible throughout.

Lagna and houses

The lagna is the sign rising at the eastern horizon for the recorded birth moment. It sets the first house and therefore the order of all twelve houses. Houses organise chart questions into areas such as self, learning, home, work and relationships.

Grahas

The nine grahas are the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu. A useful reading asks what a graha represents, which rashi and house it occupies, what it rules and how it relates to the rest of the chart.

Rashis

The twelve rashis are sidereal zodiac signs. They describe the setting and style through which a graha operates; they do not work as standalone personality labels detached from the chart.

Nakshatras

The 27 nakshatras are lunar mansions. Each spans 13°20′ and has four padas. They add another layer to the Moon and planetary placements, but still belong inside the complete chart context.

Calculation first. Interpretation with boundaries.

Chart calculation and chart interpretation are different jobs. Calculation uses the selected birth date, local time, coordinates, timezone and documented settings to place the chart factors. Interpretation connects those factors through a particular Jyotish method. Display precision does not make an interpretation certain.

Soul Yatri keeps the original birth details and time-accuracy state important because a guessed time can change the lagna, houses and divisional charts. Free text should not be silently treated as verified coordinates. When the birth time is unknown, the product should say so instead of implying false precision.
