The dashboard — your home screen
When the app opens you land on the dashboard. It is your launchpad: a prominent "New chart" action, a list of recently opened charts, and quick links into the major modules — charts, dashas, Aṣṭakavarga, Jaimini, matching, Muhūrta and the Soul Blueprint report.
Recent charts are saved automatically, so returning to a client or family member is a single click. Nothing on the dashboard requires an internet connection; everything you see is computed locally.
The navigation rail
Down the side of the window sits the navigation rail — the spine of the app. It groups every feature into logical sections so you are never more than one click from a tool: chart views, predictive techniques, strength and Jaimini analysis, practitioner tools, and the report builder.
The rail stays in place as you work, and it always acts on the chart currently loaded. Switching from the Rāśi chart to the Navāṃśa, then to the Vimśottari daśā, never asks you to re-enter birth details — you are simply looking at the same horoscope through a different instrument.
- ◆Charts: Rāśi (D1), all divisionals D1–D60, the Varga grid, Bhāva-chalita, KP cuspal, Western/tropical, and the Sarvatobhadra & Kota chakras.
- ◆Predictive: Vimśottari and conditional dashas, the transit clock and gochara, yogas, and the Life-Events timeline.
- ◆Strength: the full six-fold Ṣaḍbala, Bhāva-bala, Vimśopaka, and Aṣṭakavarga with BAV/SAV grids.
- ◆Jaimini: Chara Kārakas, drawn Ārūḍha padas, Kārakāṃśa, and the Chara-Daśā timeline.
- ◆Tools & reports: 36-guṇa Gun-Milan matching, Muhūrta, Pañcāṅga, numerology, remedies, Astro-Vāstu, and the Soul Blueprint report.
The active-chart bar
Once a chart is loaded, a slim bar near the top shows whose chart you are reading — the name, birth date, time and place, the ascendant (lagna) and the Moon sign. This is your anchor: it confirms at a glance that you are working on the right horoscope before you draw any conclusions.
From this bar you can switch between saved charts, open a fresh birth form, or duplicate the current chart to test a rectified birth time. The whole app re-computes instantly when you switch, because the ephemeris runs on-device.
The chart workspace
The centre of the screen is the chart workspace. The kuṇḍalī is drawn here, and you choose the style that matches your tradition — North-Indian (diamond, houses fixed, signs rotate), South-Indian (square grid, signs fixed, houses rotate), or East-Indian.
Around the drawing sit context panels: planetary positions with exact degrees and nakṣatra-pāda, the houses, aspects, and quick strength indicators. Hovering or tapping a planet or house surfaces its details, so you can read the chart visually first and drill into numbers when you need them.
Dasha, transit and analysis panels
Predictive panels turn a static chart into a timeline. The Vimśottari daśā tree expands from Mahā-daśā down through Antar, Pratyantar and Sūkṣma, so you can pinpoint a period to the day. A live transit clock shows where the planets sit right now relative to the birth chart, with gochara and Sade-Sati flagged.
The synthesis engine ties these threads together. Rather than dumping every classical rule and leaving you to reconcile contradictions, it weighs neecha-bhaṅga, viparīta yogas, Shadbala and Aṣṭakavarga gates into a single, honest reading for each area of life.
Settings, theme and language
The settings area is where you set your defaults once and forget them: the ayanamsa (Lahiri by default), chart style, house system, true vs mean node, and whether times display in 12- or 24-hour format. These preferences apply to every new chart you cast.
A theme toggle switches between a calm light mode and a low-glare dark mode for long evening sessions. The language switcher offers 35 interface languages, so you can work — and present to a client — in the language you both speak.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I have to re-enter birth details to view a different chart?
- No. You enter the birth data once. Every divisional chart, dasha, strength table, Jaimini view and report reads from that same horoscope. Switching views via the navigation rail recomputes instantly on your device.
- Where do I change the chart style to South-Indian or East-Indian?
- In the chart workspace you can switch style per chart, and in Settings you can set your preferred default style so every new chart opens the way you like.
- Can I use the app in Hindi or another Indian language?
- Yes. Soul Yatri Jyotish ships with 35 interface languages. Open Settings and pick your language from the switcher; the whole interface updates immediately.
- Is there a dark mode?
- Yes. A theme toggle in Settings switches between light and dark modes — dark mode is easier on the eyes during long evening reading sessions.
- Where are my saved charts stored?
- Locally, in your user profile on your own computer. Recent charts appear on the dashboard for one-click access, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
