How the 27 nakshatras divide the sky
The zodiac’s 360° divides into 27 nakshatras of 13°20′ each, from Ashwini to Revati, so every rashi (sign) contains two and a quarter nakshatras. Each nakshatra further divides into four padas of 3°20′ — the same unit the navamsa uses, which is why pada and D9 position line up. Where a sign gives a graha its broad costume, the nakshatra gives it a specific texture: two people with Moon in the same sign but different nakshatras often feel noticeably different in temperament.
