Numerology compatibility chart: which numbers match

Read as a chart rather than a score, the classical friendly sets are compact enough to memorise. 1 sits well with 1, 3, 5 and 9; 2 with 1, 2, 3 and 5; 3 with 1, 2, 3, 5 and 9; 4 with 5, 6 and 7; 5 with almost every number, which is why 5s rarely report a hard mismatch; 6 with 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9; 7 with 4 and 5; 8 with 5 and 6; 9 with 1, 3, 6 and 9. A pair outside these sets is not a prohibition, only a note that the two default rhythms differ and will need deliberate handling.

What the score is actually comparing

The comparison runs on three pairs of numbers, not one. Each person’s Mulank (day of birth reduced to a digit) describes the everyday temperament people meet first. The Bhagyank (the full date reduced) describes the longer arc. The name number describes how the person is addressed and known. Two people can share a friendly Mulank and clash on Bhagyank, which is why a single headline percentage hides more than it shows. Read the three lines separately before reading the total.

Where the number stops being useful

A friendly number pair does not survive incompatible finances, unequal effort, or disrespect, and an unfriendly pair does not doom a couple who communicate well. Numerology here is a conversation prompt: it can name a tendency worth discussing, such as a 1 and an 8 both wanting to lead. It cannot measure consent, safety, or whether someone treats you well. If the result and your experience disagree, trust your experience.

Frequently asked questions

How is numerology compatibility calculated?
It compares each person’s Mulank (psychic number) and Bhagyank (destiny number) — and name numbers — to see which harmonise, producing a compatibility score and verdict.
Which numbers are most compatible?
Each number has a set of friendly numbers (e.g. 1 harmonises with 1, 3, 5, 9). When both partners’ core numbers fall in each other’s friendly sets, compatibility is higher.
Is numerology compatibility the same as kundli matching?
No — numerology uses name and date; Vedic kundli matching (Gun Milan) uses birth charts. For marriage, check both. Our Gun Milan tool is free too.
